With Tara's & Greg's help, we were able to drive to Colorado this Christmas to surprise the grandkids......IT WORKED! We got in our vehicle to make it's maiden voyage and took off for Colorado on Christmas eve. We drove until we got to Lamar Colorado, spent the night and headed out early the next morning. Just before noon, we got a phone call from Conner to wish us a Merry Christmas. We exchanged greetings and talked a little bit, then we hung up, about fifteen minutes later, Carl & I walked in their back door. No one heard us drive up and no one heard us open the door. They just looked around and there we were....what a surprise!
Evidently I was so excited, I didn't even push the right button to start the video that I was trying to take to catch their surprise. Oh well, best laid plans.....we got a lot of.."What the??" "Where the??", "How?" Then Conner said..."Oh, you had your phone forwarded!"
We did it! Thanks loads to Tara and Greg...without them, it wouldn't have happened....."much gras"
We had a great time. We played cards, watched movies, played Mad Gab, played Clue...more cards and just had a great time with each other.
Tyler, our newly engaged young man, had his sweetie (Ann) over. Conner brought the lovely Maria in to spend some time with us and Taryn invited her new beau, Mitch, to meet us.
We had really sumptious food prepared by Tara and later on in the week, I made them a couple of pies.
We really had a great visit and in order to made our committments back home and fulfill the rest of the trip, we needed to leave by Wednesday and that is when events started happening for one to realize the holidays were over (you know like WORK...also Greg & Tara were moving offices, meetings...etc) . So we headed out and Tara (the ever gracious hostess) finally went to the doctor after feeling bad almost the whole time (what a trooper).
Conner had gone to his republican meeting earlier and Greg to work, so we woke Taryn up, said goodbye and we took off. Conner & Maria met us at the driveway to say goodbye (what a cute couple).
We didn't get to go by Tyler's place as he had to go to Bennett to work one day, but maybe we can catch it next time.
Anyway...love you guys and thanks for a great time..........
