Sibling reunion 2010

This year's get-together was suppose to be in New Orleans, but at the last minute - plans were changed. Arrangements were made to go to Toledo Bend at a relative's lake home......what a blessing...We have a great time. Probably much better than driving all the way to New Orleans and trying to decide what we could do all together and SPEND all of that money.....the lake house was PERFECT! We took a few air mattresses (just in case) - but we would have had ample beds without them, but they opted for the air mattresses. That first night was hilarious We almost lost one of our own to the first blow-up and after that the laughter could not be contained. It didn't make any difference what was said - it was funny.
The next day, we discovered our new favorite game what we called "Redneck golf". It is officially called Bolo or Ladder golf...but we will stick to Redneck..So be prepared family - you may all get a handmade set for Christmas this year.
We laughed so much and had such a great time...Food was excellent...thanks to all of the good cooks in this family.  (Debbie did the majority, but we all pitched in. Mainly the brothers were responsible for the grilling and breakfast. Debbie brought sausage bread for one breakfast and mustard greens for one meal, then she made the fried Johnny cakes to go with them. Debbie and I both brought homemade cookies and she made the yummy purple dumplings while we were there and I made french dip sandwiches with au jus sauce. We had so much food!!!!
The weather cooperated and the sunsets were gorgeous. Looking forward to next year!
