People that change your life****

We went to General conference for the very first time in person. What an experience. It was remarkable. To stand in the presence of our great leader, President Thomas S. Monson, our modern day Prophet, Seer and Revelator. How joyous can that be?
But, back to the beginning......two couples that were very instrumental in showing and introducing us to the Church were the Russells and the Cagles. The Russells were a young couple that were serving a mission down in Louisiana and the Cagles were one of the first people that we met once we moved to Louisiana. I don't even remember who we actually met first, it was just a small miracle that we were even living in Louisiana in the first place. Anyway, we met them there 25 years ago and they have always held a special place in our hearts ever since. We have not been able to see each other a lot since then, but we have kept in touch, so this was a real treat to actually see and meet with them again. The years have been very kind and they look wonderful. It was an absolute joy seeing them again and I hope that it isn't another 25 before we see them again. (Oops, that would make me very old!!!!)
Anyway, we met up with Ron and Co at Applebys in Bountiful and chatted an reminisced for quite awhile. they are still an amazing couple....love, love, love them!

Then on the way to leaving back for home, we drove a little out of the way and went to Midway, Utah...what a neat little town. Reminds me of a plateau in the Swiss alps, cute little chateau buildings and lush farmland. We had a great little reunion with the Charles and Inez Cagle. Such gracious and wonderful people and still so dear to our hearts.
