Anniversary # 43

After we visited Colorado, Utah and Wyoming....we got in our trusty little car and headed for LAS VEGAS to spend our anniversary. We checked into the Hilton, they sent up a basket of fruit for us. We went downstairs to eat at one of the luscious buffets while trying to decide WHICH show that we wanted to see. We jumped on the monorail to go to the MGM to check out the legends show and as we got into the MGM.....I could not find a bathroom soon enough and I kind of left my mark in a corner  of the MGM. (I have a problem if I eat something and either have too much of it or don't chew it properly....it kind of gets hung up and will just voluntarily come up and OUT!..it doesn't happen very often, but when it does...it is done and over with...no lasting effects) BUT....as this was happening to me...Carl is starting to feel pretty bad. He follows me around for a few minutes really trying to "hang in", but I can clearly see that he really isn't feeling well, so I tell him that we can go back to our room. So, we do. He started having problems earlier that day just as we checked in and it got progressively worse. By the next morning, more problems started in on him, so I walked a couple of miles to find a drugstore to get him something to take to at least remedy one of his problems.....we waited two hours....nothing.....finally, we checked out at noon and hit the road to go home. He could feel just as miserable in the car as he could in an expensive room. I did have to stop frequently to let him relieve himself and made it almost halfway before we stopped for the night. Still no response from the medication and his other symptoms were getting worse. I wanted to take him to urgent care, but he would have none of it, so we just forged on and got home @ 2:00AM after a day and a half of driving. Whew!  Finally got him to the doctor this afternoon., The doc said it was a Urinary tract infection as bad as it could get...and men usually do not get them! So, now we will concentrate on our next anniversary on Valentine's day to do something special.....I did at least get a few pictures and I even got to drive on Route 66 for a short period of time. Cool!
