Garden for 2011....Score - Coyotes ..ZERO....Carl ..umpteen zillion...(Hopefully)

Well, another year for gardening and we have high hopes. This year, we are taking all kinds of precautions. New fencing, exterminated and got rid of skunks, electric wire, a donkey (coyote destroyer)...and so it begins.......
The garden is doing extremely well. The picture below shows only about 4 days growth between pictures for his prize watermelons. You can almost watch them get bigger and taller. The corn is almost shoulder high and the tomatoes are loaded down. We are already giving squash to everyone that comes over. It is starting to mount up and I am pouring over cookbooks to find NEW recipes. Tried a roasted one the other night that was really good. You do it like potatoes with olive oil, seasonings, green peppers, red peppers, and onions in a shallow dish in the oven...YUM!
It really is the same melon.

Now for the rest of the garden. Green,. green, green....everything is doing really well, except for the english peas and speckled butterbeans.

The collage below is last weeks pictures. I need to take more for you to see the difference. Maybe tomorrow.
